X the kitten was waiting across the road from the Meat Shop. I gave him some of the mince I had bought for dinner and he swallowed it down like water. He had been attacked by crows who punctured his trachea, and his skin had filled up with air. So he was actually only half the size and half the age I had thought he was, and it was very lucky that he was still hungry. X will come home from the Hospital on Wednesday. X has two little black dots on his nose. He looks like a little pig. I think X will have to live here.

The Chimney man is also the Roof Man, finished off the entranceway roof painting I could not manage. Next year more of the roof will need to be painted.
Two visits to the hardware store for parts. The problem of the chimney? Each time the chimney cleaner only cleaned out the front part of the pipes, leaving those at the back to fill. So hopefully this winter it will work okay.
